There is something incredibly unearthly to love.
Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
A problem in understanding love is that we see love as just an emotion. An emotion, which befalls our substance of flesh and thought. John shows us God’s substance is love. And you are made in this image.
You are made in the image of love.
You look like love.
Love is not an emotion. It is your beginning. Your source.
Romance is the deepest thing in life. It is deeper than reality. – G.K. Chesterton
